The Louisiana Blackberry Festival in Houma, which will be held on May 18th, 2024, is a beloved annual event that celebrates the state’s rich agricultural heritage and the delicious fruit that thrives in its warm, humid climate.
This year visitors from across the region who come to indulge in a variety of blackberry-themed treats, enjoy live music and entertainment, and immerse themselves in the vibrant local culture.
One of the festival’s main attractions is the blackberry jam and jelly-making demonstrations, where visitors can learn the art of preserving the sweet, juicy fruit. Other popular activities include blackberry wine tastings, and a blackberry-themed arts and crafts market featuring the work of local artisans. The money raised at the Blackberry festival will towards Macdonell Children Services, The Houma Shrine Club, and The Helio Foundation.
