Hogs for the Cause

Kick off festival season right with Hogs for the Cause – a two-day event that’s a true feast for the senses! This annual barbecue competition and music festival in New Orleans brings together 85 of the best local and regional pitmasters, as well as backyard chefs, to compete in seven mouthwatering categories: Whole Hog, Ribs, Pork Butt/Shoulder, Porkpourri, Sauce, Fan Favorite, and Fundraising Champion.

But Hogs for the Cause is about more than just incredible BBQ. It’s a celebration of community and a powerful force for good. All proceeds from the festival go directly to supporting families with children fighting pediatric brain cancer. To date, Hogs for the Cause has provided over 1,600 direct grants to families in need across multiple states.

Last year’s festival was a record-breaking success, raising a staggering $3.6 million for the cause. “The amount of good that can be done with these funds is astonishing and humbling,” said Becker Hall, co-founder of Hogs for the Cause.

From its humble beginnings as a backyard pig roast, Hogs for the Cause has grown into a nationwide phenomenon, attracting tens of thousands of attendees and competitors from across the country. And with 15 years of delicious BBQ, incredible music, and life-changing impact under its belt, this festival shows no signs of slowing down.
